A collection of core print resources to support UQ medical students and teaching staff is located in the joint USQ/Hervey Bay City Council Library. The Hervey Bay Library is located at 161 Old Maryborough Road, Pialba, adjacent to USQ's Wide Bay Campus.

The UQ Hervey Bay collection is located at the joint USQ/Hervey Bay City Council Library at 161 Old Maryborough Road, Pialba (adjacent to USQ's Wide Bay Campus). Clients may access the collection, including books, videos and multimedia CDs. For library and information assistance see USQ staff at their information desk and for borrowing go to the Issues Desk. Hervey Bay City Council Staff can assist if USQ staff are not in attendance.

The Library is open from 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 9:00am - 4:00pm Friday and Saturday. These hours may vary on occasion. Current hours are available from the Fraser Coast Regional Council Libraries website
Opening hours for other UQ Library branches are available from the Library website.
The book returns chutes are located near the entrance of the library.
The Computer Laboratory computers at the Hervey Bay Library are for use by USQ students only. UQ students may use the public use computers in the Hervey Bay Library according to the advertised conditions.

Flyers relating to usage of UQ electronic resources are displayed in the UQ collection area.
Discussion tables and individual seating are available in the UQ collection area. Students may also utilise the library's Quiet Reading Room.

The collection covers all medical areas of relevance to third and fourth year MBBS students, including: general medicine, genetics, anatomy, pathology, imaging, psychiatry, anaesthesia, orthopaedics, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, dermatology and pharmacology, medical law and rural health.

UQ students can use the copying facilities located in the Computer Laboratory at the Hervey Bay Library. Cards can be purchased from the UniCard Autoloader and the fee is 12c per page. Printing is available from public use computers in the Hervey Bay Library at the advertised rates.

A small UQ Library Collection of core texts to support rotations at the Hervey Bay Hospital is held in the UQ Student Affairs Office which is located in the Allied Health Offices, Hervey Bay Hospital (1st door on right off Car Park, from Side Entrance in Nissen Street). Items are only available for loan to UQ Rural Clinical School students and staff. Standard UQ library borrowing conditions apply.
